UPDATED POST June 2026

Few more photos of Tony now that he is going to be 4 years old this year!

You can frequently find me on location all over Dublin taking photos of families, children and babies either at a favourite place outdoors or else cozy at home.

I was delighted when I found out that this photo below picked up Honorable Mention in the portrait category at both Click Pro Photo Competition Voice Awards, 2025 and 1839 Photography Awards!

You can see more Award winning photos here.

Tony likes to snooze (A LOT), and bite on people's socks, even when they are on our feet!He has a thing for tennis balls, sticks, and dandelions (he likes to eat them)

He has an affectionate, sweet, and most famously for the breed, clown like nature. He doesn't snort too much except when excited (...thankfully his nose is not too flat...). Oh, and he likes milk!

If you have a dog I absolutely love to include your pets in my family sessions, whether it's outside in the sunshine or in your own home.

Below a Communion session (recent) that included two sisters and a rather cute dog!

Say Hi to Tony, our new Frenchie! I've updated this post with some recently edited boy & Frenchie pictures from February when we first bought Tony home (yep..the pup's called Tony).

My dear beloved Pomeranian dog Pebbles passed on January 1st 2023, leaving a big void in our hearts. I sat with the grief, but walking around Dublin parks brought too many memories, and in the end, Tony was welcomed into our home. We don't replace a dog, they are all so different...

Tony is very sweet (and small, for the time being). And here are some first pictures of him as a 3 month old pup. (newly updated).

Sometimes I have to decide between black and white and colour for my family photography. I will always love Black & White.

I hand edit all my black and white family portraits, layering different effects to create texture and depth.

My preference for colour is darker, natural and slightly desaturated colour tones which are usually from LOW LIGHT conditions, where there is strong contrast between light and shade. Alternatively I like soft, vintage inspired tones in my Child Colour Portraits.

My family photography journey started by documenting my own family story, The Beginning, as the kids grew up, first in Abu Dhabi U.A.E, and now here in Dublin Ireland.

Here is my son playing with Tony with an old Reebok trainer. I deliberately sat them down on old newspaper to give the child portrait a sort of old world "ragamuffin" charm. I also gave my son the oldest shoe I could find.

When I am doing in home family or newborn photography, having good window light makes all the difference!

My favourite light for indoor family pictures is low light. just need a slither of natural light to highlight features on the face. This can create dramatic family portraits, reminiscent of a painting.

In this case, with Tony, an hour before sunset, the cloudy weather meant little light.

You can tell how dark and cold it was on this afternoon in January by the steely stark, cool tones of the color picture. Cold weather creates naturally cool family portraits as opposed to warm portraits from golden hour light.

And, by the way, I LOVE to include pets in my family photography Dublin sessions.

I find that pets really bring out the best in people. They help generate candid, authentic connection. You can see my maternity Dublin photo shoot with two sweet Daschunds here. Also portraits with my Pomeranian, Pebbles in an Autumn photo shoot Dublin.

Please see more Dublin Family Photo Shoots here and under Family Highlights.

In January 2023, I introduced some exciting local family photography sessions in Blackrock and Seapoint near Monkstown. My local sessions are 45 minutes and like all my sessions include a full edited gallery of images.

I really look forward to meeting you, your family and pets
