Storytelling Wedding photographer, Dublin & Ireland
By Cara Hodge.
Hi, I'm Cara—a storytelling wedding photographer based in Dublin. My style is timeless and dreamy, mixing real life with a little touch of fairy tale magic. And honestly, weddings are perfect for this!
I focus on unposed documentary wedding photography, capturing the story of your day as it unfolds naturally. Alongside this, I love to create classic wedding portraits using scenic backdrops and beautiful light.
Inspired by the look of film, my wedding photography pairs cinematic black-and-white with vintage-inspired colour, evoking the beauty and emotion of your special day.
I truly love photographing weddings—almost as much as you’ll LOVE getting married!

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me at home, reading books, collecting mismatched cushions, and drinking way too much tea and walking my Frenchie Tony.
Three Questions:
What’s your favourite movie? Gladiator
Favourite holiday? Lost in nature, but with lots of little towns to visit
Favourite night out? It has to start with a very hot curry!

Q&A
How long do you shoot for?
My wedding photography packages typically start at 4–5 hours, delivering a fully edited gallery of approximately 200 photos. For an 8-hour package, you’ll receive up to 400 beautifully curated images. I prioritize quality over quantity, but if a photo adds to the story, it will absolutely make the gallery.
What parts of the wedding do you photograph?
I capture all the key moments of your day, from the scene-setting details and preparations to the ceremony itself. I document intimate portraits of the bride and groom, as well as the reception and evening celebrations. During the quieter moments, such as the meal, I use the time to back up your images, ensuring everything is safely stored before the festivities continue.
What is your wedding photography style?
My style is a blend of documentary storytelling and fine art portraits. I focus on capturing the natural flow of your day, with authentic and candid moments that reflect its spirit. While I don’t specialize in formal group shots with large lineups, I am happy to create relaxed group portraits. For couple portraits, I love seeking out beautiful light and stunning backdrops to create timeless and romantic images.
