Hi, I'm Cara a natural Dublin newborn and family photographer, for sessions outdoors in a location you love, or in your own home and garden!
You can often find me photographing babies and newborns in Blackrock, Stillorgan, Booterstown, Ballsbridge, Dundrum, Monkstown, Dunlaoghaire and Dalkey Village - and all over Dublin!
Within the first two weeks of birth, your baby is still as curled up as she was during pregnancy, so many families like to capture this precious time. However, whenever you feel ready is the right time for taking photos of your new baby! All developmental stages have their unique characteristics.

Convenience. I come to your home to photograph your baby whenever you're ready!
You can barely find the time to drag a comb through your hair, right? Let alone take a shower or make dinner? With a newborn session at home, you can stay exactly as you are and I come to you!
The charm of an in home newborn session is in the authentic setting of your home and garden.

Natural documentary newborn - Expect authentic interactions!
I love to do a documentary family session focused on the authentic way you interact and take care of your baby. Capturing all the little details. Cuddles on the sofa, feeding baby, holding tiny baby feet and hands... Exploring your family interactions in the different rooms of your house and scoping out beautiful sources of natural light.

Baby portraits in natural light. Your home is the source of window light, perfect for newborn portraits!
There is a beauty to all natural light family photography. I often schedule newborn family sessions around 10/10.30 am in the morning when families are awake and small children have had enough sleep. Also, morning light is the best!
Window light can produce diffuse, soft light as well as dramatic contrasts. I will also look out for sky lights, reflections off mirrors, light patterns on a wall...
Don't worry about your home being "too dark"! Having to think outside the box when it comes to light can result in unique baby photos. Just as every home is different, every newborn session is unique!
We can venture outside. In home can include your garden or nearby green space!
Also, in the summer months we can make the most of sun outside, even just a short way away from home. Below, under the pergola in dappled light with mum and baby girl.

Dublin in home family session: All the family is welcome!
As with my outdoor sessions, all the family is welcome for in home family sessions. Older children, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, pets!!

A complete baby gallery with all the best moments from our time together.
You will have a gallery of all the best moments from our time together. There is no need to pick and choose your favourite pictures from our time together as I give a complete digital collection with each of my sessions.
As well as offering a complete digital gallery of edited photos, I believe that baby photos are best framed with love. I also offer beautiful prints, albums and books, and mounted print boxes.
I like to blend classic black and white edits with vintage inspired colours. (classic black & white newborn portraits )
