Autumn in Dublin brings a magical transformation, as leaves of yellow, gold, and red create gorgeous natural backdrops for family photography.

For my local Autumn sessions, I use a Blackrock garden where the children can climb a lovely tree - and the beach at Seapoint. At the beach, the light can be gorgeous in Autumn through the day.
Cloudy weather can produce beautiful light and colours. Clouds make for those atmospheric moody, Irish skies in your family photos...

I love trees for children to climb and to provide shade (shade of trees).
Below, I give wardrobe tips for my family sessions. I think that earthy, rustic colours can look great for Autumn sessions - brown, rust, beige, mustard, copper, red...As the Christmas season approaches, red, green, white -as well as touches of gold and silver - look great mixed in. Complimentary colours work better then everyone perfectly matching.
In a recent family photo session in Carysfort Park, Blackrock, the red of the falling leaves complemented the pop of red from my daughter's gloves. We experimented with hand gestures and close-ups to add a touch of drama!

I love cinematic black and white edits or subtle, slightly de-saturated vintage colour.
