Natural, Fuss-Free Newborn Photography

Instead of having to go out to be photographed, I come to you. I take newborn photography with a documentary approach, ensuring a comfortable and relaxed experience in your own home. That's when we hang out together, and I capture all the natural moments that arise with no prompting from me—feeding baby, washing, sleeping—all those moments in between.Your home becomes an additional character in your story. These rooms where you spend your life, whether they are tidy or messy, upturned and chaotic—don't worry, I've seen it all. Your home is the backdrop and fabric of your life.

As well as taking some timeless family portraits, I will also record those unexpected candid moments so you can remember what life was really like in those first days at home. There's no need for a big tidy-up, and you can wear PJ's if you like! No time to fold all the baby blankets, or to put away the milk bottles or breast pump, let alone fix your hair in anything but a haphazard bun? You're not alone! All those details are what you will look back on with a smile of recognition.

Pretty Light is Your Best Friend

On this photo shoot, there was beautiful natural daylight coming through the blinds. It is rare I shoot with flash—even in the darkest homes, I will indulge my passion for scoping the best light to tenderly illuminate your family portraits with baby. Low light is one of my favorite lighting conditions for its drama and painterly feel. Expect light to be enhanced by film-like editing both in black & white and vintage-inspired color.

What to Expect

A newborn in-home session typically lasts from 45 minutes to 2 hours, with one hour being the average time. During the session, I will do a mix of traditional family portraits and documentary-style photography. Withing 2-3 weeks, with any package you choose you will get the best moments, fully edited in a personalized online gallery. Handcrafted albums and print products are also available a la carte.
